Little Rock, Arkansas
Little Rock, in Arkansas, is a huge
city holding over 600 thousand people. The capital of the state and a motor
for Arkansas economy, it was a historic commercial crossroads where people
sailing down the Arkansas River would stop at la petite roche or Little
Rock.
As its reputation as important river crossing grew, so did trade and
population. Now, almost 300 years after French explorer Jean-Baptiste
Bernard gave it its name and set up the first trading post, major
corporations, multinationals and local businesses have established
themselves in the city of Little Rock.
Business giants such as Acxiom have set up their headquarters here, and
other companies, who have settled elsewhere but have a huge presence in the
city, include Aircraft companies such as Raytheon and Dassault.
Also, a major player in the area's economy is certainly the University of
Arkansas, whose Medical Sciences department and schools produce a whopping
multi-billion dollar contribution to the local economy every year.

Of course, the University of Arkansas is already a powerhouse in itself and
